[GRASS-dev] Valid location, mapset and map names

Hi,

I wanted to know - is safe to use non-latin chars in location, mapset,
map names?
Are there any other restrictions on those names except file system
related restrictions?

I recall some conversation about alloved and forbidden characters in
vector file names, but quick look at 6.3.cvs reference manual does not
reveal this information. Information about valid and invalid chars in
location, mapset, map names should be included in reference manual.
