Ok, I won't use up any more bandwidth about it; if no one objects,
I'll change SUBMITTING_DOCS to use:

<em> tags for module names
<b> for flags and parameter names
shell commands, names, etc <tt>
emphasized phrase <i>
alphabetized SEE ALSO

I've been removing obsolete references to the old interactive mode 
from the docs as I encounter them.
