Eye is perfect. Hollow asterisk is hard to figure out.
IMHO, the pencil needs color to tell what it is.

I like what you've done with the action icons, especially the way  
you've replaced the more common folder icon with a more abstract  
ring. If this can be seen clearly enough when the action icons  
(small) are added to the object icons, it's a big improvement over  
the normal.

Layer seems very good and understandable to me, as does map display.

Abstract map icon OK. It doesn't jump out and say "map" to me. BUT I  
DO understand the symbolism and it's easy to learn. So this may be  
the best option for the underlying concept. I assume that you'll use  
interior designs/color to differentiate between different map types.  
Those should make this even clearer.

These are shaping up in an impressive way. The planning put into this  
will make it easier for users to learn and use this complex program.
