[GRASS-dev] wxGUI on mac

Massimo,

Sounds like you cannot use my binaries and that you are compiling yourself. 

William learned sometime back that wxPython for Mac ver. 2.8 needs to run 32 bit and adapted the GRASS Mac make system to do that. It works great on Snow Leopard using the system Python 2.6.1 and current stable wxPython.For other versions there is no guarantee and we have not coded this to work on wxPython > 2.8 or Python > 2.6. It may work or it may not. It will be good to see how to get GRASS to compile with the new Python 2.7 and wxPython 2.9. FWIW, it also does not run on the newest builds of TclTk.

William has been working on getting GRASS to compile and run on the newest wxPython without success yet. I do not yet have Lion, but probably will on at least one machine before the end of the year. William recently noted that there may be some code changes to wxPython 2.9 that cause GRASS to crash. I haven't yet been able to look into these. 

If you'd like to help on this, it would be certainly appreciated.
