 format-specific, I would suggest to keep r.in.gdal and v.in.ogr as they
 are and introduce new wxGUI-specific modules r.import/v.import, or
 g.gui.r.import/g.gui.v.import.

 +1 (I prefer r.import to g.gui.r.import)

 And both should be accessible from the menu.
