[GRASS-dev] Error in GRASS GUI startup

Oh, I installed version 7.9 and it works perfectly! Huh, much easier fix than I was expecting. Thank you for all your help!

OK, you were having trouble with the OSGeo4W package and the standalone installer version 7.8.2 is giving you this error. To be honest, we don't have enough information to troubleshoot your problem. **ERROR: Error in GUI startup. See messages above (if any) and if necessary, please report this error to the GRASS developers.**  We don't have those "messages above". Do you see more error messages than this? Maybe, you could take a screenshot of your problem?

Please try the 7.9 daily build (https://wingrass.fsv.cvut.cz/grass77/x86_64).. Hmm.. this link doesn't work? Here you go. (https://wingrass.fsv.cvut.cz/grass79/x86_64/WinGRASS-7.9.dev-54-Setup-x86_64.exe).

If this official daily build doesn't work either, please try my personal daily builds (latest master branch, don't worry about malicious code here ;-):

I'm using Windows 10, 64-bit. I used the stand-alone installer for GRASS 7.8, because I was having trouble with the OSGeo4W package. I got 7.8 because it was the newest stable version. I downloaded 7.8.2, again since it was the newest version.

I'll try deleting the grass directory. In the meantime, if there is any other advice to be offered, please send it my way! I really appreciate all this.

Also a precise version of GRASS GIS (7.8.1 or 7.8.2).
There where some start-up related issues fixed in 7.8.2 (see 1, 2 & 3).

One thing you can try out is to completely delete ~/.grass7 directory.
