Thanks much for the explanation. Does anyone know if we need grass-dev for running g.extension? For some reason, when we started to install it, we got a message that it would wipe out several important software packages we are using.

Turns out that the GUI is a separate download and installation. That seems odd to me, but we managed to solve this.<br>
