<div style="font-family: Menlo, Consolas, Courier New, Monospace; font-size: 14px;">Dear all,</div><div style="font-family: Menlo, Consolas, Courier New, Monospace; font-size: 14px;"><br></div><div style="font-family: Menlo, Consolas, Courier New, Monospace; font-size: 14px;">I am parking PR #3903 for the time being as I exhausted the options to set the region. I tried in the test methods, in the setUpClass method, with different instructions, but all seems to be over-ridden at some point. I leave here two points for reflection on this matter, let me know if they should be transformed into issues.</div><div style="font-family: Menlo, Consolas, Courier New, Monospace; font-size: 14px;"><br></div><div style="font-family: Menlo, Consolas, Courier New, Monospace; font-size: 14px;"><ol data-editing-info="{"orderedStyleType":1,"unorderedStyleType":1}"><li style="list-style-type: "1. ";"><span>As it stands there are no instructions on region set-up for the unit tests. Perhaps a more general update to docs/wiki is necessary, but some guidance on the region would be particularly helpful. For now only the existing tests provide some clues [0], but I haven't managed to successfully test r.out.gdal with the same strategies.</span></li><li style="list-style-type: "2. ";">It is not possible to replicate the region management happening at CI/CD time in the development environment. This forces the constant reliance on the CI/CD, with all the extra time costs it implies. It would be very helpful if there is some way to approximate further the development environment to CI/CD testing environment.</li></ol></div><div style="font-family: Menlo, Consolas, Courier New, Monospace; font-size: 14px;"><br></div><div style="font-family: Menlo, Consolas, Courier New, Monospace; font-size: 14px;">Thank you.</div>
