<div dir="ltr">Dear GRASS PSC Members,<br>
<br>
<div>I would like to propose a motion to use "GRASS" as the
official name of the project.</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>As discussed during the last meeting, the project
originally used "GRASS". Over the years, "GRASS GIS" started
to appear in more and more places starting with very few in
the mid 1990s and finally appearing in the current version of
the logo around the release of version 7 in the form of bold
"GRASS" and thin "GIS". However, some places including the
documentation continue using "GRASS", and adjectives almost
exclusively using only "GRASS" even in official materials.
Going forward with simply "GRASS" will lead to higher
consistency in branding and communication.</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>I'm assuming that the followup changes to this motion will
happen naturally soon as a series of related changes is
already underway, namely new tutorials page, new branding, and
new documentation.<br>
</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>I'm starting with +1 for this motion.</div>
