Joyce Nagle asked questions about the orthophoto rectification programs. That program went out under alpha in 4.0. It has since had bug fixes performed by OGI (Shapiro?) and also by the original programmer - Mike Baba of DBA. You might want to check moon.cecer.army.mil for one of these latest versions.
