more reclass/rescale

The discussion of reclass and rescale prompts me to ask
a question I have had for awhile.  Is there an easy way
to reclass into deciles or quartiles or whatever, where
10% (or 25%) of the values fall into each of the new 
categories?  Rescale operates on the data range, so extreme
values may result in a category with a large range but with
very few cell values actually falling in it.
