Hi grass-users:
I am trying to import a digital elevation model using the program m.dmaUSGSread
this model cover some areas form mexico and is distribuited by INEGI (the gover
nment agency for mapping) but is the sameone maked by the US defence mapping ag
ency.
I am follow the next steps:
1 create a latitude-longitude region.
2 I wrote the file from disk to a tape, and use the command dd if=file1 | m.dma
  USGSread top=1 bottom=1201 left=1 right=1201 output=dtm1 logfile=header
and the program send a message " usage coordinate limited to 1 to 1201"
the same error message was sended when I try to read the file directly from a
  disk file.
  any comments?.
Next steps:
anyway I can import directly the integer file (16 bits) to a region with no coo
rdinates but I have another kind of problems:
anybody knows how clean the file from the unknow values, I mean in some areas o
f the model there is no data, and when I run the r.slope.aspect program, the re
sult looks like stairs in some areas.
Thanks a lot for your help.
