lat/lon mapsets

Hello,
	We are trying to do some digitizing and image registration in a mapset
	using lat/lon.  We have experience working in UTM but need to do some
	work in lat/lon.  We first run i.target directing the output to our
	mapset in lat/lon but the program i.points seems to only accept UTM
	coordinates.  In fact it will not accept the lat/lon coordinates
	we type in. 
	Does anyone have experience with lat/lon mapsets in grass?
