r.proj - I wish!

Hi,

I put out a hopeful call some time earlier about the urgent need for an "R.
PROJ" similar to v.proj which would enable rasters to be re-projected
between different databases.

There was not much reaction at the time. Maybe there will be now. I have
many (too many) rasters in geographic which I would prefer to have in
lambert conformal (since it looks so much more sensible for output etc).
Since v.proj works so well, I find it hard to understand why a raster GIS
like Grass does not have an r.proj.

Is there anyone out there, with an "r.proj" who would like to share it with
us?

There must be at least one other person besides me who would find it useful
(in my case ESSENTIAL).

By the way, despite the inevitable wish lists for Grass ( and I would have
some too), in many ways Grass is brilliantly functional for raster
modelling which is what interests me. So. Well done!

PS. Sent this a week ago but it never got out of our building.
