Thanks for the response about using named pipes to run Splus from GRASS. The
S+INTERFACE has tools to do just that. The C Applications/S-Plus Interface
Manager (S+CASIM), provides a linked library of C functions to manage bidirec-
tional communication between application and Splus via four named pipes to
handle Splus expressions, Splus output, errors, and status messages. Data from
the application must be stored in internal data structures (ie. either an
argument to an Splus function or a complete Splus expression).  S+CASIM is
probably the best way to bring about sametime Splus-GRASS sessions.
