DLG import

I am importing a DLG-3 file that I created using ARC/INFO to GRASS4.0/4.1.
The A/I coverage I used has 5 points so the DLG-3 file has 5 degenerate
lines. I have used the v.import command and the v.in.dlg and v.support
commands. With v.in.dlg I get nodes = 5, areas = 0, lines = 5, unknown =
0, degenerate lines = 5. Then with v.support I get number of lines, nodes,
areas, atts, etc. = 0. And, of course, I get the same thing with v.import.
 Consequently, no points imported.

Help!! Any suggestions how to get points from the DLG-3 file to GRASS
using these commands. I am not interested (at this point) in using the
ungenerate format.

Thanks in advance. Please send your comments directly to me and I will
summarize and put the answer(s) out on the listserver.
