grass-axp-binaries

Hello there, 

I am trying to install Grass 4.1 on an Alpha (DEC 3000) , I have the alpha binaries from the tar file - grass-axp-binaries.tar and was under the impression 
from the installation guide that get Grass up and running from here would be 
"easy" . Looking at the directories and files untarred I am uncertain about 
where to begin, is there a README file somewhere , pherhaps that I am missing?
