xgrass4.1 problem

        I have been having problems with the xgrass4.1 user interface.
the initial startup window will not allow me to add new items.  The push
button works fine but the subsequent popup will not allow keyboard 
entries.  However the mouse seems to be able to activate the different fields
of the popup.  Any help here would be greatly appreciated.
