r.le bug under Solaris 2.x??

I have recently learned that r.le.patch core dumps under Solaris 2.4 when
doing just about anything.  The program compiles without errors or warnings,
however.  r.le.patch is contributed code for calculating landscape ecology 
metrics.
Has anyone got r.le.patch working OK under Solaris 2.x??  I'm still using 
SunOS
4.1.3 so I had not caught this problem.
