FeatureX - Feature Extraction Effort

All:

I'm happy to welcome the Florida Insitutue of Technology group to OSRS. 
They will be working on the OSRS's FeatureX (Feature Extraction)
project. The FeatureX project will both, develop new algorithms, and
leverage existing algorithms/tools/packages from the open source
community in construction of an autonomous and interactive feature
extraction package that will eventually be integrated into the OSSIM
project. All code development and communication will be done on OSRS via
the mailing list and the OSRS CVS repository.

Initial thoughts on development are:

Low Level Feature Extraction Development 
Edges 
Watersheds 
Morphological operations 

High Level Feature Extraction Development 
Hyperspectral algorithms 
Assisted classification 
Autonomous classification 
Land use characterization
