Hello,

I am very sorry to disturbing you with one question of GRASS newbie. It
could take me a weeks to get a sufficient knowledge of GRASS to be able to
help myself. If anybody can give me an advice I would be totally happy.

I am ocassional user of ArcView and I would like to do some GIS tasks on my
linux machine too. I just have installed GRASS and managed to make tcl/tk
GRASS GUI to run. Now I am learning how to work with it. But my goal is
not only to work with it but also to program simple scripts helping me with
repeating tasks.

I would like to know how to make this task automated (by cron or so): I
have a list of points (measured by GPS) and a few not overlapping polygons.
I would like to assign to every point in the list an attribute identifying
the polygon in which is the point located. Could you give me any advice?
Thank you very much in advance.
