[GRASSLIST:5253] Raster map not being displayed

Hi all,
I am converting an ascii file into raster form by making use of r.in.ascii 
input=globedem.ascii output=globedem title=try mult=5.0

The ascii file goes like this :

north: 15.8000001907349
south: 15.0583334853873
east: 74.5916651925072
west: 73.5999984741211
rows: 90
cols: 120
0 0 0 0 0 1 1 11 72 18 39 32 100 79 118 119 19 106 134 94 19 39 43 34 22 22 
33 6 22 30 44 4 43 105 165 118 110 81 112 83 111 144 141 67 98 366 163 152 
593 399 366 130 392 379 356 294 197 113 179 107 78 73 127 116 145 176 312 309 
480 746 734 751 747 751 725 756 596 670 749 746 733 730 771 742 755 752 740

With each row being of above format.

On running this command, the raster file along with the support files is 
created.However on running     d.rast globedem
a blank screen is displayed with white bg.

Also there isnt a ascii to raster converter option in the GUI.

What could be going wrong ?
