[GRASSLIST:5806] geodesic distance

Hi,

is there a module available in GRASS to measure geodesic distances in 
a projected location (eqc in my case)?
I also tried to display geographic coordinates of user selected 
points in the same location using d.where but it returned projected 
coordinates. Is there a way to get geographic coordinates on a user 
spheroid other than the ones mentioned in the manpage of d.where?
