GRASSlinks (there are several flavours):

http://pnwpest.org/glinks/index.html
(the Spearfish dataset may be of interest [Mount Rushmore, USA])

http://www.agcrc.csiro.au/4dgm/grasslinks/

http://www.regis.berkeley.edu/grasslinks/
http://www.regis.berkeley.edu/glinks/about_gl.html

UMN MapSever:

http://mapserver.gis.umn.edu/

http://grass.itc.it/start.html
  (click on "Start" demos)

I think the difference is GRASSlinks is more for dynamic GIS queries and
MapServer is more for queries of static maps (eg mapquest.com)..

There's a Java frontend out there somewhere as well, maybe that is
useful.
