[GRASSLIST:2731] r.buffer

Hi,

I need to delineate a zone to encompass a 500km radius around a site. The 
final goal is to r.patch multiple maps into this zone. When I use r.buffer 
it generates a G_malloc error: out of memory.  My /tmp directory is 
virtually empty.  I have lots of disk space.  I am running Grass5.0 in 
Cygwin\Xfree86 in WindowsXT.

Any suggestions, including a way to achieve the patch without r.buffer if 
possible?
