[GRASSLIST:2970] Vector labels to cat

Hi,

I imported some land use .e00 files into GRASS with m.in.e00. So far 
everything went fine. I changed the name in dig_cat to get the labels I 
wished (they are 11 to be exact). I Would like now to reclass the vectors on 
the label basis because the category denotes the serial number of the vector 
in the table and it is not of much help. How would I do that?

Again, the question is:
How would I reclass the category of the vector to make it the same as the 
label?
