It is not possible if you mean MODIS Level 1B files. MODIS Level 1B GCPs
extraction is disabled in the source code because of many reasons. Those
GCPs shouldn't be used directly, there is complicated algorithm to
georeference that dataset. And that is not supported by the gdalwarp,
sorry.
