Lawrence,

My first guess is that you have saved the configuration of tcltkgrass with
the menu minimized or quit, and the r.in.tiff dialog open. This
configuration is saved in the file ~/.tcltkgrass. Try renaming this file to
something else (e.g., old.tcltkgrass) and restarting tcltkgrass in GRASS.
This will recreate ~/.tcltkgrass. When you have the menus like you want
them, quit tcltkgrass making sure to save the configuration. Then restart
tcltkgrass (tcltkgrass &) and see if this fixes the problem.
