hi,

i have a little time to test the new wingrass-6.3RC5.

great work!!!

is it possible to use new wxpython-gui with this RC?

from the README-file in the wxpython-directory:

    "2 - STARTUP WITH GRASS INITIALIZATION

      If you want to run wxPython GUI automatically when you start
      GRASS, edit your .grassrc6 file to replace
      GRASS_GUI: tcktk (or whatever you have here)
      with
      GRASS_GUI: wxpython
       or easier start new GRASS session with -wxpython switch.
      $ grass -wxpython

     3 - STARTUP FROM GRASS TERMINAL

      Simply type
      $ g.gui wxpython
      from the GRASS terminal.
      You can also specify workspace file to load on startup.
      $ g.gui gui=wxpython workspace=myworkspace.grc"

so first i start grass with tcltk-gui from the short-cut-panel "Programme-> GRASS -> GRASS 6.3 RC5", then i put the following command

            g.gui -u gui=wxpython

and the output of g.gisenv is:

            GISDBASE='C:/gis_sampledata';
            LOCATION_NAME='spearfish60';
            MAPSET='user1';
            GRASS_GUI='wxpython';

and seems to be ok.

then i start grass again from the short-cut-panel "Programme-> GRASS -> GRASS 6.3 RC5", but the tcltk-gui is starting again.

so i tried the second way to start the wx-gui with an additional line in .grassrc6

the location of .grassrc6 is "C:\GRASS\msys\home\Dokumente und Einstellungen\helli\.grassrc6"

but nothing has changed, tcltk-gui started again.

how can i start and test the new wxpython-gui on windows? maybe are there problems with the spaces in the path to .grassrc6

my system:
win xp - german version
python 2.4
wxPython 2.8.7.
wingrass-6.3.RC5

best regards
helli
