[GRASS-user] problems getting Grass started

Dear all,

I have been working succesfully with Grass 6.3 on Linux Ubuntu for a while,
but I recently encountered a problem, and I can't seem to open Grass
anymore. When I open Grass from the terminal, it gives the next error:

Cleaning up temporary files.....
Starting GRASS ...
ERROR: LOCATION_NAME not set

Does anyone have a clue on what this may mean? Any help would be really
appreciated.
