Hi

I have a large number of HUGE tar.gz compressed grass databases (up to
1GB tar.gz files). They all have raster layers, among other, which
contain the word "fire".

I would now like to extract all these raster layers with "fire" in the
layer name and convert them to .asc esri ascii raster format. What is
the easiest to do this in a scripted way? Is it possible to extract them
from this file directly without using grass? They all have the same
extend, resolution and everything.

Cheers,

Rainer
