we are doing localization of tcltkgrass interface in hindi language(india locale:hi_IN)and for that we are  referring to this link.

we have changed the en.msg file according to the instructios given in that link.and we have created hi.msg file
we have made changes to following files as per the instructions .

config.tcl         /etc/nviz2.2i18n/scripts      Modify default font from helvetica to Gargi
d.dm-i18m                /scripts                add two lines to specify default font
gis_set.tcl          /tcltkgrass-i18n/scripts    add two lines to specify default font
gui.tcl              /tcltkgrass-i18m/main        Modify terminal setup from mlterm to
                                                 gnome-terminal add two lines to specify default font
                                                     

tksys.tcl           /tcltkgrass-i18n/main        modify default font from helvetica to
                                                   Gargi


following are the two lines we are adding to specify default font
 
option add *font -*-Gargi-medium-r-normal--0-0-0-0-p-0-iso10646-1
option add *Label*font -*-Gargi-medium-r-normal--0-0-0-0-p-0-iso10646-1

here Gargi is the name of opentype font created by us for Devanagari.

and after all these changes as u can see in the figure below boxes appear in place of translated entries.



We are using
Linux 2.4.23-ck1 #6 SMP i686 GNU/Linux with gnome-2.4
