there was a bug in the 6.4.0rc5 release unfortunately, but is now long<BR>
since fixed.<BR>

If you are building from source please try pulling the latest 6.4.0svn<BR>
source code (ask again if you need help with that), or if using Ubuntu<BR>
use the version from UbuntuGIS (ppa.launchpad.net).<BR>
[oh, good, I see the 9.10/Karmic Ubuntu package finally got updated to<BR>
fix this bug]<BR>
