You may use v.to.db and option=length (line length), then
use
v.extract to extract into a new map according to a
threshold you need.
Anyone has a clue about what it could be happening?

I'm using GRASS 6.4.4 in Xubuntu 14.04.

I think I must say that a few days ago I installed GRASS 7
but I removed
it and reinstalled GRASS 6.4.4. Maybe is there any
incompatibility?

Thanks a lot!!!
I have backported some fixes from GRASS 7 to the addon in
GRASS 6.
Please reinstall the addon with g.extension and try again.

No, GRASS 6 and 7 can happily live together.

Please let us know if the updated Addon runs ok for you.
