I’m trying to look at, and even use, a VRT data set that I have. The WIKI suggests that this can be opened using r.external

<div class="">I’ve tried to do that with current GRASS 7. And while the console says “Reading band 1 of 1…”, I see no progress bar or other evidence that something is happening. The total file is 1GB (I have another that is 10GB), and I’ve been waiting for
half an hour (on a fast workstation) with nothing happening.</div>
