<p>You can import ASCII xyz files directly, and you can also import
point clouds and interpolate a raster surface.</p>

I haven't tried yet.<br>

I did just try exporting/saving a Google XYZ layer from QGIS
to my Desktop as a projected GeoTIFF and it did not seem to
work.<br>
