[GRASS-web] help!

Hello,

I cannot figure out how to use GRASS!  Is there anyone I can speak with?  I
am in California.  What do I do?  I need to access data from the University
of Edinburgh, UK and they said I just need to open it with a GIS software.
 I downloaded GIS onto my mac but I am stuck.  Please help.
