I have no objection to Paul whatsoever. As for the other item let's see

Paul Spencer offered to mentor MapGuide, and given his experience with
MapGuide I think he would be great for the job.  If you have no
objection
we should put a motion to this effect to the mailing list.

I think this is reasonable, but I am interested in some broader
discussion
of the implications.  For instance, would be be reasonable for GDAL to
consider libgeotiff as being managed by the GDAL PSC?

Are the FDO folks OK with this approach?
