<div><br></div><div><u>Productive environment:</u></div><div> Currently the software is used in productive environment at IST-SUPSI; it is daily used to collect, store and dispatch data from the Cantonal Hydro-metereological network which today counts 70 stations, 145 sensors and more then 34 millions of observations in a single service instance. This is used by the Cantonal Administration to harvest data both in real time and after a procedure of data validation partially automated and partially manual (our hydrologists). The system is also used to provide flood alarms to the local stakeholders (Administration, Police, Civil Protection, etc.) by means of hydrological modelling of inundation using real time data (from istSOS) and weather forecasts. All this is regulated by payed mandates from the Administration to SUPSI.</div>
<div><br></div><div><u>istSOS and commercial providers:</u></div><div> I would certainly welcome <span style="font-family:arial,sans-serif;font-size:13px">commercial service providers which start using istSOS as it would provide opportunity to spread the software use and as a consequence to chance to get more funds to further work on it. I would not like so much if the service provider </span><font face="arial, sans-serif">phagocytes the entire project, but this is unlikely to happen and in the case... that's life...</font></div>

I 'believe' (not sure though) that we still need a confirmation by the<br>
board whether we are accepted into Incubation. Jody will know.<br>

The processes of the Incubation Committee have somewhat evolved over the<br>
past years. We will have to double check that we use the right stable<br>
and approved versions of the documents.<br>

We also need a page in the OSGeo Wiki. In the early days each project<br>
had to have two pages, something like this:<br>

Then there was an additional check list and the trac ticket, lets see<br>

Does SUPSI claim any ownership or copyright and if so, do they support<br>
the Free Software license? Who if not SUPSI is the copyright holder?<br>

wrt question 8: Do you have any plans to grow the code and software into<br>
something that can be used in a productive environment? Would you<br>
welcome when commercial service providers use istSOS as part of their<br>
architectures? If there is already any kind of relation you know of this<br>
would be valuable to know. The project itself still seems to be pretty<br>
small and OSGeo Incubation is more about well known and broadly used<br>
software. So the more proof of professional use we have the better.<br>
