<p>Nice to see you working through the incubation checklist. I think
it will find it valuable for helping build your project.</p>
<p>Re setting up an archived email list, yes, I think it is well
worth doing.</p>
<p>1. If you are emailing each other already, you may as well do it
on an email list. It costs very little to get it working.</p>
<p>2. Having an email list is a good way to attract users. New users
will have a way to contact the developers, as a question, and
occasionally offer to help (and grow your team). It helps create a
sense of community. Probably start with just one email list (call
it <a class="moz-txt-link-abbreviated" href="mailto:devel@xxx.yyy.zzz">devel@xxx.yyy.zzz</a> or similar). Once traffic gets large enough,
you might want to split out into user@xxxx and announce@xxxx<br>

incubation", but that hasn't stopped us from working

a strong community project.</p>

foundations, and would be a candidate for
being an OSGeo project in a few years, but
is still a bit young to be ready for OSGeo
Incubation.</p>
<p>I suggest a better checklist to look at is
the OSGeo Graduation Checklist. This is what
you would be aiming for if you wished to
complete graduation.</p>
