important/relevant discussion should occurs in GitHub, sometimes
things are relevant to keep; for example this morning we talked a
little about WebWorkers, and some ideas of a good data structure.
In my case, my browser froze and I lost all of this conversation,

Hello,

I'm for Gitter: it is a really simple client, not too much
feature such as in Slack or Mattermost (the engine behind
Framateam), and is simpler to join than the two others: only a
Github account is necessary (or not), and no invitation is
necessary to join a channel (if it is public). In Slack (free
version)/Mattermost, new users needs to receive an invitation.
If people outside of the current dev team wants to join, we need
to have a simple process.

Also for those who worry, Gitter is now opensource (<a

Note: I have used Gitter for more than a year, Slack for more
than three years, and Mattermost a little.

Hi,
No strong opinion on this, except I'd prefer to avoid Slack: I had quite a bad
experience with it (but that was 2 years ago), and it is proprietary.
Staying on IRC is also fine by me, but if we have to change, I'd vote for gitter
or framateam (I've only ever tested the latter though).
Cheers,

We propose to evolve the irc chat to a more modern chat room.
The motivations are to facilitate the exchange of code, images, data and also to
keep the discussions.
