I'll be representing OpenJUMP with Stefan. I'm also in the process of
becoming more involved in GeoTools.

I suppose I could have given a more informative description for the
mailing list. The main purpose of the list is to coordinate
cooperation among FOSS GIS programs/libraries written in Java. Any
conversation in that realm is appropriate.

I imagined the list might work in this way:

I decide I want to add some support for temporal features to OpenJUMP.
Instead of creating all my own code from scratch I send an e-mail to
this list to ask what other projects have done. I then try to utilize
existing code if possible, and perhaps talk to the other projects
about a common framework for temporal features that can be shared
among projects.
