As the Spatial IT solutions Developer you will build and maintain the databases and software that support the Geodetic System and its use by the New Zealand Surveying and spatial communities.  This includes integration with the Advanced Survey and Titles Services (ASaTS) to ensure the services provided by ASaTS meet the needs of the Geodetic System and vice versa.  This will involve making changes to existing geodetic web applications, databases and services that are external to the ASaTS system to ensure that IT requirements for the geodetic system as a whole are met.

To be successful in this role you will need:

* Minimum of 5 years IT software development experience with GIS background
* Web services development skills
* Database design and development skills
* Experience with PostgreSQL, PostGIS, Python and web services development
* Django experience would be an advantage
* Agile and DevOps background
* Ideally you are an open source contributor
* Proven process management skills and the ability to simplify complex processes
* The ability to learn quickly when facing new problems, and are open to change and ambiguity
* Proven experience in using rigorous logic and methods to solve difficult problems with effective solutions

You will have need proven ability to work in agile, collaborative environments and to communicate solutions and ideas to people.
