The candidate must be well organised, capable of multi-tasking<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>and a strong team player, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>The ideal candidate will have:<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>• BSc qualification or higher in Geography, Geographic Information Science, Information Science, Computer Science, or equivalent proven geospatial experience<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>• Experience developing Web GIS applications using JavaScript Web Mapping API's (OpenLayers, LeafletJS or similar)<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>• Proficient with JavaScript, HTML, CSS, JSON & XML for application development<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>• Good understanding of OGC standards & web services (WMS, WFS, KML, WPS, SLD, GeoJSON)<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>• Proficient working with common GIS formats (ArcSDE, PostGIS, File Geodatabase, Shapefiles) and using desktop GIS software like ArcGIS or QGIS for data loading, manipulation and map production<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>• Able to develop workflows for automated geoprocessing tasks<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>• Experience using open-source geospatial software (GeoServer, GeoWebCache, PostGIS, other spatial libraries & tools)<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>• Experience using source control such as TFS<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>In addition, the following skills will be beneficial:<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>• Write spatial SQL functions and work with databases including SQL Server, Oracle and SpatiaLite<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>• ArcGIS tools and scripting, preferably with Python, and using tools like OGR/GDAL<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>• Javascript libraries like JQuery or ExtJS for user-interface design<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>• Experience with HTML5 & graphics (e.g. SVG or Canvas)<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>• Familiar with server-side technologies like Apache, Tomcat, Jetty<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>• C#.NET development experience, write server-side code and web services<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>Responsibilities may include:<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>• Develop custom web-based geospatial applications to promote decision support for our geoscience clients, in 2D & 3D<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>• Design user interfaces for geospatial applications and tools<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>• Test, debug, and refine application code as required for delivery<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>• Provide geospatial data management support of geoscience datasets residing in SDE and PostgreSQL/PostGIS<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>• Support advanced map production to a diverse range of geoscience applications<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>• Undertake geospatial data processing and analysis using a range of bespoke workflows for both complex vector and<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>raster datasets<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>• Provide database (PostgreSQL/PostGIS) maintenance support<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>Please apply by visiting our website www.neftex.com and filling in the online application form.
