Alex, Brian and I were discussing the wombat background on IRC. Both 
agreed with you that the OSGeo logo was not bright enough.
I've updated the background image in svn with a brighter osgeo logo.
Brian also commented that he'd like the wombat to be smaller, but our 
graphic artist says this will be quite a bit of work as he has done a 
lot of post processing on the image (and he is getting a bit edgy about 
all the adjustments I'm asking from him).
