#1393: gmt: pscoast never completes
---------------------+------------------------------------------------------
 Reporter:  hamish   |       Owner:  live-demo@…
     Type:  defect   |      Status:  new
 Priority:  major    |   Milestone:  OSGeoLive8.0
Component: LiveDVD | Keywords: gmt, mbsystem
---------------------+------------------------------------------------------
 quickstart example for gmt fails, or at least runs forever at 100% cpu.
 top shows pscoast process as the problem. also some errors on the command
 line:

 {{{
 $ cp -r /usr/share/doc/gmt-examples/examples/ gmt-examples
 cd gmt-examples/
 ./do_examples.csh

 Running examples with executables from /usr/lib/gmt/bin
 Doing example ex01/job01.csh ... GMT Fatal Error: GMT_lonpath requesting
 negative n_items (-2147483647) - exceeding 32-bit counting?
 grdcontour: GMT_non_zero_winding given non-closed polygon
 grdcontour: GMT_non_zero_winding given non-closed polygon
 }}}

 mb-system's quickstart examples also showing some funny rendering
 artifacts during gmt plotting steps. (shaded relief example)

 see also https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gmt/+bug/1349718

 we're shipping gmt-coast-low, but installing gmt-gshhs-* instead doesn't
 help.
