In that case, I'd suggest that JTS is a likely candidate for
OSGeo-Live. Next steps, if you wish to progress is to check to see
what is involved from your part, and if you want to progress, then
send a request to have JTS join osgeo-live, as per:
Our criteria and checklist for bringing a project into
OSGeo-Live are linked from here:
target="_blank">http://wiki.osgeo.org/wiki/Live_GIS_Disc#How_to_add_a_project_to_OSGeoLive

We include applications which can be installed and run,
and also include descriptions of libraries from OSGeo
incubated/incubating projects.

So I see the key criteria for including JTS would be:
1. Does it have a user interface?
2. Or otherwise, is it an OSGeo project?

Others from our team may wish to add further comment or
suggestion to this.

I'm fine with using that image (or image idea) for
the GEOS image.
I don't have a larger version - it would have to be
recreated. This would be fairly easy to do using
the JTS TestBuilder, which can export to PNG. But I
won't have time to do that until after FOSS4G - I"m
pretty busy beforehand!

Are the questions about JTS at OSGeo and on
OSGeo-Live two separate questions? 8^) I did have
a short discussion with Frank in Denver about
bringing JTS into OSGeo. I think he was concerned
that it could not meet the acceptance criteria, such
as having a wider developer community. But if it
can be included on OSGeo-Live in spite of that, I'm
happy for that to happen.
Possibly something like this:
href="http://tsusiatsoftware.net/jts/images/example-intersection.gif"
target="_blank">http://tsusiatsoftware.net/jts/images/example-intersection.gif
be a cop-out to grab it.
Martin,
I suspect that you would have been the original
creator of the image Frank references above?
Do you have any objection to it being used in
conjunction with GEOS?
Maybe we could have 2 variants on the same
image, one for JTS, the other for GEOS?
Do you have a larger version of the image? It
needs to be 1024x768 for osgeo docs.

This does lead to a later question, about
bringing JTS into OSGeo and OSGeo-Live. (We aim
to include descriptions of all OSGeo library
projects on OSGeo-Live.)
