It is very kind of you to offer your services to help with
FOSS4G and OSGeo. I'm not sure if you have already been
recruited into the service of FOSS4G?

If you still have some spare volunteer time, one thing
which Song, Wang Jing have started, as part of running
FOSS4G in Beijing, is to translate the OSGeo-Live [1]
documentation into Chinese.
This documentation provides a comprehensive high level
overview of the best Open Source Geospatial applications.
And the OSGeo-Live DVD is handed out at geospatial
conferences and workshops around the world, including at
FOSS4g in Beijing.

Amy,
If you have the skills to translate into Chinese, then it
would be hugely valuable if you and your team could extend
Song and Wang's initial translations to be more
comprehensive.
Are you interested?
Hello,

I'd like to introduce Amy Gao to this group. I
met Amy last week at
the FOSS4G-NA conference - she lives and works in
the Washington DC
area. She expressed an interest in helping with
the FOSS4G 2012
effort in any way she could. Amy is a native
Chinese speaker, and I
thought she might be able to help facilitate
communication between the
organizing committee and others within the OSGeo
community.

Ang Gao, could you suggest a way that Amy might be
able to help with
the effort? If you have a list on your side that
she could subscribe
too, it might be a good way for her to get
involved.

Amy, I cannot provide details on the various lists
& people copied
here - but I'm hoping that someone else copied
here can help make
introductions. Can someone describe the purpose
of the
comparison with the timeline that we set up in
February. The current problem is caused by the
delay of our online conference management system.
About two months ago, we made a contract with a
company for system development. But our testing on
this system showed that there were some problems
on the payment part in registry system, and the
abstract submission system also did not run well.
For safety, we have to postpone the registry and
call for papers.
