Hello Mapbender devs,<br>

I had an IRC session with abhishek_singh last week about help on the<br>
debian package he is working in.<br>

I had a look at the drupal and mediawiki packages already available and<br>
tried to package Mapbender the same way. For MapServer I used to use<br>
checkinstall [1] to create .deb and .rpm packages. But for Mapbender a<br>
lot of more configuration is involved like the whole database setup and<br>
checkinstall doesn't cover that AFAIK.<br>

Unfortunately it is really to much time to read through all the docu for<br>
dh_* tools and dpkg-*<br>
I also stumbled up on some troubles with my setup, so I highly recommend<br>
doing the build process on a clean (vm-)machine.<br>
<br>
The current problem, I have no solution for, is that its not clear how<br>
the directory structure should look like and how its populated to be<br>
used as source for the build scripts.<br>
<br>
So far no solution from me. If I have spare time I'll take a further<br>
look but no promises when this will be ;)<br>
