Mapbender Version 4.0.0-beta released 2024-05-24 - Aufruf zum Testen

Hallo Mapbender-Community,

das Mapbender-Entwicklungsteam hat die Mapbender Version 4.0.0-beta am 
24.5.2024 veröffentlicht.

Das gebaute Paket findet sich unter [1] und der Tag der Version 
4.0.0-beta unter [2].

Bis zum finalen Release arbeiten wir jeweils im Branch develop [3].

Wir möchten die Community aufrufen, diese beta-Version eine Woche lang 
zu testen und Feedback zu geben - entweder via Mailing-Liste [4] oder 
als Ticket [5].

Der bald erscheinende Major Release mit der Version 4.0.0 enthält neben 
vielen Neuerungen auch zahlreiche Bugfixes.

Je nach Feedback zu den Vorabversionen erwarten wir das finale Release 
Anfang Juni 2024.

Umstieg auf die neue Version
----------------------------
PHP 8.1 ist nun die älteste unterstützte PHP-Version.

Ein Update von 3.3.x auf Version 4.0.0 ist möglich. Es gibt aber ein 
paar Schritte zu beachten. Lesen Sie daher unbedingt das Dokument 
UPGRADING.md [6].

Neuerungen der Version 4.0.0
----------------------------
Sie sind jetzt schon neugierig? Dann schauen Sie sich das CHANGELOG [7] 
an. Wenn das finale release erscheint werden wir ausführlich auf die 
Neuerungen eingehen.

Dokumentation
-------------
Derzeit wird auch die Dokumentation auf die Version 4 umgestellt. Sie 
findet sich unter [8].

Mapbender version 4.0.0-beta released 2024-05-24 - Call for testing

Hello Mapbender community,

the Mapbender development team has released Mapbender version 4.0.0-beta 
on 24 May 2024.

The built package can be found at [1] and the tag of version 4.0.0-beta 
at [2].

Until the final release, we will work in branch develop [3].

We would like to call on the community to test this beta version for a 
week and provide feedback - either via the mailing list [4] or as a 
ticket [5].

The upcoming major release with version 4.0.0 contains many new features 
as well as numerous bug fixes.

Depending on the feedback on the pre-release versions, we expect the 
final release at the beginning of June 2024.

Switching to the new version
----------------------------
PHP 8.1 is now the oldest supported PHP version.
An update from 3.3.x to version 4.0.0 is possible. However, there are a 
few steps to follow. It is therefore essential that you read the 
document UPGRADING.md [6].

New features of version 4.0.0
-----------------------------
Are you already curious? Then take a look at the CHANGELOG [7]. When the 
final release is published, we will go into the new features in detail.

-------------
The documentation is also currently being updated to version 4. It can 
be found at [8].
